I have spent over 2 months searching for employment after completing a training course for Medical Billing and Coding and am embarking on another training course for Certified Nurse Assistant in order to find work. My Neurologist told me this week that I most likely have ALS. He said that I do not yet qualify for the clinical diagnosis but he wants me to start taking the medicine that helps to extend your life. In the meantime they are going to continue to do tests to rule other possibilities out. I am a 3rd degree member of the Knights and I am praying that ultimately they will conclude it is not ALS and it is something else that is treatable. I appreciate the prayers. Thank You.

I pray for Father McGivney's intercession to heal the blindness in my left eye caused by injury.
The eye is still physically pretty good but since the injury took place when i was very young my brain never developed the optic nerve enough for it to recognize and use it.
Therefore I only see out of my right eye which now has some macular degenration and i fear someday becoming mostly or totally blind.
A miracle through the intercession of Father McGivney would allow my brain to recognize and develop the optic nerve in my left eye to the point whereby i may use it again would be cause for his Sainthood indeed and such a blessing for me and my family...
for this i pray daily and i visit Father McGivney's tomb at St Marys weekly to personally ask him for this intercession.

Sometimes, he has to wait on the railroad for me for an hour or so. It's very stressful on both of us. We are in desperate need of a House Miracle. We're currently living in my neighbor's trailer, but need our original home damaged from Katrina rebuilt. We ran out of money, and would've been homeless had it not been for their generosity to open their trailer up to us. Now, we need a miracle to pay off her trailer so we can own it, and another miracle to be able to fix our home back to sell it, and buy a real home of our own. Life has been too overbearing already since Katrina happened 5 years ago. We need some light at the end of the tunnel. God bless you.

I was attending an XLT event on Friday, March 5, 2010. During this event, the Blessed Sacrament was exposed for about 30 minutes as we worshiped in silence as well as in song. Right before this time of Adoration, an image of a priest fell on my heart. I didn't know who it was but it lasted roughly 15 minutes into Adoration. I could not find the name of the face I had seen, even though I recognized it. The following Saturday I received the sacrament of Reconciliation, and on Sunday, the Eucharist. Also on that Sunday, I was asked to be the director of a Teen ACTS retreat. It was a very spiritual weekend for me. The following Wednesday, March 10, 2010, I attended my parish's youth group event. At the end of our time, we closed in prayer. Right before prayer though, I looked up and straight in front of me was a picture of Fr. McGivney. The room we meet in is used by our local Knights of Columbus. I immediately asked his name, and went home to research the man who had been placed on my heart. His life story fits so perfectly with where I personally am at right now, spiritually, as well as where our youth group is headed. Fr. McGivney has been praying for me to discover my identity, and through his intercession I have been led closer to Christ.

Yesterday, 02-06-10, the Washington, DC metropolitan area was hit with approximately 20 inches of snow. the power went out in our neighborhood for approximately six hours. As the temperature dropped in the house, i worried about my wife and two sons because as a police sergeant I was still expected to come to work that night and didn't want my family to be alone in the dark, cold house. Last October 25, 2009, my husband Arthur (a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5922), underwent emergency surgery as a result of a ruptured diverticulum of the colon, which eventually led to septic shock. Doctors have repeatedly told us that his chances for survival were very very slim.
Through the prayers of family, friends and members of the Knights of Columbus (both in the US and Philippines), my husband spent more than a month in the hospital. Since that time however, he has progressed slowly but successfully, and we believe it was through Fr. McGiveney's intercession.
I will be sending a more detailed letter to the Guild in the hopes that this miracle may be documented and aid in his canonization.

He is diabetic, has fought with valor for 20 months to overcome pancreatic cancer. He is now facing surgery to remove a hernia that keeps growing and causing great pain. About five years gago, I joined the KofC, ready to serve, and quickly found myself with no endurance. A year or so later, I was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, very aggressive type). 39 radiation treatments and medicine later I still worked with our heaven's Helpers of the helpless elderly to keep them in their homes until finally my strength failed me. I had a problem being an usher and some memory problems. In this period some older friends helped me to start serving mass for the first time since the 1960's, and my wife and I started weekly hours with the exposed blessed sacrament. I needed daily naps for two hours and awakened so groggy I couldn't think straight for up to three hours. My brother Knights had been including me in their prayers. I had heard about the efforts to find a miracle by Fr. McGivny, so about a month ago I began to stand in front of his picture at St. Joan of Arc church and pray that he would clear my head and get me back to working for the Kinights and all I needed to do.
I had steadfastly refused my wife's entreaties (starting a few months ago) to see a doctor about episodes in which she said I would stop breathing several times a night.
After praying to Fr. McGivny (and only then!), and not thinking about how he would answer my prayers, I suddenly acceded to her pleas and learned from the Doctor's test that I had severe sleep apnea. The CPAP machine the doctor gave me immediately changed my clouded head to clear and I no longer have to take naps.
Also, before the seemingly miraculous improvement with my head and improved strength, I had been praying to Fr. Mc Givny for a cure or at least God's will be done about my cancer. At my last encologist/radiologist visit (Dr. Jacobs), the doctor told me he saw no signs of the cancer,and also that he had only seen three patients in his entire career where the medicine for the cancer continued to work to keep my serum prostate antigen (PAS) down very low over six months past when it should have worn off entirely. He told me he was amazed (sic).
I prayed over the last three years to God, Mary, and every saint in heaven, but I don't think it was a coincidence that these things happened almost immediately a few months ago for the cancer, and two weeks ago for my muddled head.
I thank you blessed sacrament and your servant Venerable Fr. McGivny for this miracle. Vivat Jesus.

I am currently unemployed and I am also the sole wage earner in my family. I have been married to a wonderful wife for over 16 years and we have 3 wonderful children, ages 12, 10 and 5. My wife has been staying home with the kids ever since our 10 year old was born and we want it to continue that way for a long time to come. We both feel that is where she needs to be and we feel it is also what God wants of her.

Dear Father,
Recently, my wife of over 50 years had successful knee surgery. As an afterthought, she told the doctor about the pain she was experiencing in her lower back.
As a precaution, the doctor ordered x-rays and MRIs. The radiologist was suspicious of a metastatic condition. Additional tests were ordered to either confirm or rule it out.
Between tests I prayed for the canonization of Fr. McGivney and asked for his intervention that the condition would not be cancerous.
It is an arthritic condition, albeit painful, it is nothing worse. During the time between tests, the diagnosis was uncertain; it was then that prayers to Fr. McGivney were said. Those prayers have been answered and will continue in thanksgiving.

My wife has been going on various tests and biopsies for breast cancer. Preliminary tests done by Kaiser Hospital Pathologists and Stanford were inconclusive. Stanford's result came out negative but Kaiser Hospital's result said that her cancer was invasive. Another round of biopsy was done to be sure that tests results between Kaiser and Stanford come out with the same result.

She has had ups and downs and goes in tomorrow to find out if she has to start taking insolin or not, when she went on med's she would go from 130 to 200. In the last year she has been steady at 130 and for the last 2 months it has been hitting very low in the 80's, she is not feeling well when taking her med's and feels well when she forgets. They took her numbers last month and said if they don't improve she will be going on insolin. I just want to update you on 2 prayer requests I have submitted. The first was for assistance with my change in career fields, I was wanting to go from the automotive field to the Knights of Columbus Insurance field. I was worried about the pay changes, and line of work. I was contracted December 1 and am now a Field Agent in South Dakota. The part of this change I find important is several; 1. I am making 50% less as I start out, and have been out of work for over 6 weeks. But the bill collectors are not calling, the few that have are understanding, and willing to wait to set up payment arrangments. While there is less money coming in, we are not running out of money. We are still eating, and still have a home, things are tight but at ease. The second change is in me, I use to drive 5 mph over the speed limit, I would cuss most of the time in conversation, and strech the truth to make a point. Now I find myself driving the speed limit, I don't cuss at all, and I CAN'T LIE, while that sounds like a funny movie line, it is true, if I find myself telling a lie, I am correcting myself instantly.
Last week I wrote in about my wife, she was going in for a follow up appoitment for her diabitus, she had been having problems, with her feet and numbers going all over the place. I wrote in and asked for Fr McGivney's intercession, and on Monday we went to the Doctor, her numbers had improved, they were wanting to put her on insulin based on her numbers but did not see a need, they want to check again in 2 weeks. they took her off one medication completly. and now for the last week, her numbers are perfect for a NON-DIABETIC she is staying 80 to 130 the high is after eating, the low is all other times.
She is still taking her medication till next week when we go back, but is taking the minimums perscribed.
I will let you know what is going on next week.

I am petitioning for a complete healing of my multi fractured ankle. I fell in September and I have had surgery. I had prayed to Father McGivney before my surgery. After my surgery, my sister noticed that my surgeon was wearing a Blessed Mother Miracleous Medal. I found this interesting as I support and pray for the expansion of the medal. I also asked Father McGivney to ask Saint Padro Pio to intercede with him for his process for Sainthood. The surgery was not performed in a catholic hospital and I did not know or get to choose the surgeon.
I would like to walk again without this pain and also walk straight without my right foot not pulling g outward but forward. I am not able to work. Job interviewing - which at this time is tough and very competitive is not going to be easy to show potential employers that I have the stamina to work if I can not walk correctly.
I truly believe in the power of intercession and miracles, I pray that Father McGivney will intercede and allow for a complete and total healing.

After being laid off in March, 2008, I began praying the prayer for the canonization of Fr. McGivney at night, and asking him to help me provide for my family. Since then, I have been able to find enough work that we have been able to get by. Often, it seems that just as we are getting desperate, something comes along that provides us with enough to keep going. At first, I was in a constant state of worry that we would not survive. All that was essentially asked for was a fair & just settlement on behalf of the earnest & hard-working teachers of this unique urban district.
Well, despite a local, state & national economic environment that presented a seemingly stacked deck of non-promising potential results, low & behold, yesterday (Tues. 10/13/09)---against all odds, I might add---a quite dignified & respectable contract settlement--astutely negotiated by all parties involved-- was overwhelmingly ratified by the membership @ Hill regional Career H.S.
Embedded within this precident-setting contract was a mechanism for reform of less-than-successful school within the district for the betterment & success of students. This will no-doubt become a template for cooperative educational unionism throughout this Great Land of ours. truly a win-win for all involved stakeholders within the Elm City of New Haven, CT.
Certainly this unprecidented occurence during these most trying of times must have benefitted from some sort of special intervention from Fr. M. McGivney in order for this to have occurred right within the town/city where he spent most of his born days with the working people of New Haven. How good of him to never have forgotten his roots right here where his good name still maintains its relevance & influence.
--What a continuingly remarkable individual--

My God-father, who you should know is on the board of directors and his name is David was trying to find a smaller house or conduminium and was not having much luck. So one night I asked Father McGivney for his intercession for someone who was so devoted to the Knights of Columbus and McGivney and a day later they found a condo and ended up buying it. It could be coincedince... but I don't think so. I hope this helps with his canonazation. I am not a knight but will be A.S.A.P. I probably should include that I am only 12 years old and I understand it is harder to believe because I am only a child. But in all honesty I am not just making this up. I hope this is good enough and I hope this acount of intercession by Father McGivney is still crediable because I am a child. A.M.D.G.

That 8 yr. old Sarah would be completely healed of an aggressive brain cancer which has returned after a 6 month remission. Her cancer first appeared in May of 2008. She was given 6 weeks of radiation and 6 months of chemotherapy which put her in children's hospital for 5 days each month. The cancer was not visible on a scan done on Mar. 19th, the feast of St. Joseph. However, it has reappeared this week. I ask for a miracle, through the intercession of Fr. I am in need of Prayer for my health. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, T.M.J. (really bad pain in my jaws 24/7! and Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I am in need for prayer because I just want to give up and I know deep in my heart thats not what God wants me to do. I was on a trip to Roanoke VA and had an accident at the end of May - I was diagnosed with a severe leg wound, a broken rib and a crack in my spine. I was fitted with a plastic brace which I must wear whenever not flat in bed. I was in a rehab center after a week in the hospital but suffered a heart attack; after a successful stent insertion, I have returned to the rehab center but also picked up a very severe infection in the leg - on July 15th I may get released to my daughter who lives in Roanoke for further recovery before I can return to my wife in Maryland. I have been a Knight in good standing since Aug 1949 and am a Guild member - although I am very active in my Council, no one has seen fit to petition Fr. McGivney on my behalf, so I am requesting for his aid myself.

In the next few days I'll be attempting to renegotiate our mortgage. This comes in the wake of what has been the toughest year financially that my wife and I have ever had. We made it through and we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, but this renegotiation has to be approved in order for us to keep our home. Things have picked up economically and we're looking forward to the future, once we get over this hurdle. We have cleared almost everything else and are willing to pay what we owe on the house and we just need to change the mortgage terms in order to do it. The mortgage holder has said they will drop the ongoing foreclosure proceedings if we are approved for a change of terms.

I pray to God through the intercession of Venerable Father Michael J. McGivney to grant good health to my granddaughter Mylene who was born with two but one working kidney. Doctors said that they will be doing surgery too on the working kidney. She was also diagnosed with Tethered Cord Syndrome where the doctors did a successful surgery on her. I pray that her remaining kidney will function well.
Also I pray that my wife's life get better. She had a kidney transplant in October 1980. Recently she was having health problems and she has to see her doctor almost every other week for tests. She was diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoma. They also told her that she had EB Virus. This is a side effect of her lifetime anti rejection drugs. She also have problems with her legs that she is having difficulty walking.

Just recently we were visited by one of our grandaughters; since 1988.
The same period of time has transpired for my wife to be able to communicate, or to visit her 92 years old mother and/or our oldest daughter.
My wife is a twice cancer survivor, (1997-stage three/2002), and in 2007 suffered a stroke. She is a true walking miracle thanks to prayers being requested in her behalf.

As a member of KofC Council 3468 I also became a member of the Guild for several years now and I must say that I was a recipient of many blessings through Blessed Father Mcgivney.
I am in the business of selling residential lots and every time no one buys any I prayed to Blessed Fr. McGivney from whom I found favor.
Lately, I was in deep financial difficulties with my bank loans matured,and failing many financial obligations. I prayed hard for Blessed Father McGivney's intercession and just last Saturday, March 28, I was able to sell one lot with ease. Thank You Blessed Father Mcgivney. I announced this favor during the council meeting this Sunday to promote devotion to him.
The first "miracle" that happened to me was when I wanted introduce Father McGivney to the members in one of our council meetings being a new member of the Guild. Then without any communication with our council lecturer whatsever what is then in my mind, he approached me and gave me the floor for the Good of the Order , thus I was able to talk about the on going process for his canonization and since then the prayer for his canonization was adopted as the council's Opening Prayer but lately made the Closing Prayer during our council meetings

Please pray Father McGivney' through your intercession to God in his Greatest Glory for my son Vincent who is 30 years old and on September 3, 2008 was diagnosis with Mediastinal Germ Cell Cancer which is very rare and also a very aggressive cancer.
After 4 very aggressive regiments of VIP chemotherapy medicine, and 4 invasive surgeries for biopsies and a pericardial drain The 5th and final surgery January 21, 2009 to remove all cancer which consisted of removing the pericardial lining of the heart and replacing it with an artificial material, resection of the left nerve to the vocal cord, resection of 1/3 of the left lung, resection of left diaphragm - flatting the right diaphragm so that it lifts the lefts lung, resection of part of the left chest wall and resection of part of the wall under the rib cage. Vince is doing remarkable given the magnitude of this huge surgery. All margins were clear.
After all of the above the cancer is back. We are starting new chemotherapy medicine, March 11, 2009, and hope that it will kill the yolk sac portion in the mediastinal germ cell cancer has not been not responsive to any chemotherapy treatment as of yet. Please pray Father McGivney through your intercession to God in his Greatest Glory and all His Angels and Saint to save my son Vincent P. Liberto III and grant us a miracle in curing him from this terrible disease.
In addition, one more favor for my friend Kathy daughter Heather who was recently also diagnosis with a very aggressive breast cancer. Please pray Father McGivney through your intercession to God in his Greatest Glory and all His Angels and Saint to save my son and my friend's daughter and grant us a miracle in curing them from this terrible disease.

Doctors are beginning to indicate that there is little or no hope that he will recover as they ascess he has severely diminished brain activity.
I have faith that my prayers through the intercession of Father McGivney will be answered and that a miracle can ensue. Father McGivney has helped me and others I know in the past.

My father,Raymond J. McBride, is a Lifetime Brother Knight and was my sponsor twenty years ago. He is diagnosed with end stage respiratory failure and renal failure. My father has been a faithful lifelong servant of our Lord and has touched many persons in his lifetime with his kind thoughts and deeds throughout his volunteerism and through his daily walk through life.
My mother is experiencing a severe back ailment during which she has unbearable pain. She has been a lifelong servant to out Lord and has helped many family and friends in their times of illness and need.

My boyfriends grandfather recently had a blood clot in the brain and underwent emergency surgery which did not help. They were told he has 10% chance the clot will resolve on its own, but he has side effects of the stroke such as inability to speak and move his extremities. He is also the primary care taker for his wife and without him his wife will also be deeply affected. We would be thankful for prayers from father McGivney and others for a miraculous recovery, if that is God's will.

I pray to you, the Most Venerable Servant of God, Father Michael J. McGivney to intercede for me in my time of need. It is for the good of my family that I pray for an early retirement from the Social Security Administration. For the past several years, approval of the Administration early retirement plan comes from another government agency called the Office of Personnel Management.
If the plan is approved this year, it will help me to work together with my wife in our home based distribution of RELIV nutrition products. I will be in better physical condition because retirement will remove the stress of sitting all day at the computer which has been creating eye and neck pain for me.
Your intercession, Father McGivney is much needed at this time in my life. I have been praying with intensity to the Communion of Saints during the past one or two years for this miracle to happen. It might be the miracle to bring you to canonization and the honor of the altar.

My wife is scheduled to undergo surgery this Friday on her leg. She had a severe break and has had a subsequent surgery to help stimulate bone growth. This surgery is to remove the remaining plates holding the bone together.
The break site is infected and will not heal until the plate is removed. The risk is that the infection will spread, which could cause serious complications. Or, the bone will break again since healing is incomplete.
I am asking Father McGivney to intercede for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery with no further complications from the infection.

Last month I lost my job of 10 years teaching to three infants and toddlers who are developmentally delayed. I really loved my job and was able to use the degree I had went to college for. I have been looking for a new job for the past four weeks and have been unable to find a job in my field serving others. It is also important for me to bring in the same amount of income as I was before to help support my family. I have prayed to God for guidance to help me determine what I should do but have not yet received the answer. it is difficult to get up in the morning and not feel like you really have a purpose in life.
