In March of this year, a growth appeared on my cheek. I saw a doctor and scheduled to have it removed a few months later in July. After seeing the doctor, I prayed a novena to Father Mcgivney and asked two favors: that the growth be non-cancerous, and that it fall off on its own. Within a few days, the growth did fall off while i was sleeping. I saved the specimen and the later trip to the doctor showed it to be non-cancerous.

I posted a petition nearly one year ago requesting the intercession of Fr McGivney for our daughter, Kelsey, who underwent spinal fusion surgery to correct scoliosis. While I privately hope for a miracle that her condition become corrected, the skill of her surgeon combined with the prayers of many family, friends and those of Fr McGivney brought to fruition a 6 hour, successful surgery and a full recovery for Kelsey. The anniversary date will occur in August of 2010 and we are very grateful.

Just last month our grand knight was hospitalized and admitted in the intensive care unit for pneumonia. All our fellow church workers launched a prayer vigil for his healing. Holy Thursday 2009 after Mass I received a call that a close friend (Thomas N. Millican) suffered a massive stroke. The prognosis was very poor without likelyhood of recovery. I tearfully prayed before the Blessed Sacrament and made a special request of Fr. McGivney for his intercession to Jesus Christ for the complete healing of my good friend. This is exactly what has happened, an almost complete restoration of function has happened and expectations are for complete healing after physical therapy. I believe this to be a miraculous event worthy of investigation.

My brother was in a coma for several months after numerous operations due to MRSA virus and "flesh eating bacteria" operations. He'd been given the last rites and was not expected to make it. Our family held a prayer vigil and prayed to Father McGivney, each of us holding Father McGivney's prayer card in our hands. Miraculously, my brother recovered and is now referred to as "miracle man" when he visits the hospital. My wife is currently undergoing treatments for breast cancer, and we continue to pray to Father McGivney. Her doctors are very pleased with her progress.

My mother called me the other day crying about not being able to do anything for my dad who is batteling bladder cancer. She asked if it was selfish to ask God for a miracle? This comes from a 80 year old woman who raised 4 children in a very Catholic home. She is most proud that we are all "practicing Catholics". My mom was the best stay at home mother. My dad worked for 44 years as a middle class worker, and he came home everyday to a homemade lunch waiting for him, made by mom. Mom & dad today, also help their children pay for catholic school. They NEVER, EVER miss Mass. And during Lent attend mass daily. I teach in a catholic school, and today at faculty prayer I was handed a copy of a prayer to Fr. I received a call last Sunday that a friends 5 year old daughter fell from a hay loft , landed on her head on the concrete, she was airlifted to St Joseph Hospital and I was told ( third hand) did not look like she would make it. I prayed to Father McGivney and by the end of this week the little girl was able to go home and all the medical tests showed no major damage other than bruises on the face. The Lord answered all the prayers that were going for for this little girl

On September 13, 2008 after three days in a comatose state due to multiple organ failure caused by a severe liver disease and while waiting for an available liver my family continue to pray to Father McGivney to intercede on my behalf and to make a compatible liver available. Doctors had told my family that my progressively deteriorating condition would allow them a twelve hour window for a surgery to be performed. In less than twelve hours we were notified by the doctors that a liver was available and that the medical team was on its way to obtain it. The liver arrived at the hospital and at 1:00 am I was wheeled into the operating room for a eight hour surgery. This week on the first anniversary of the miraculous event I feel very strongly that it was Father McGivney' intercesion that made the surgery and my recovery possible. My husband an I had been praying daily to father McGivney for this favor since I became ill with a rare liver disease three years prior to my transplant surgery. Due to my pre-transplant condition and to the rapid recovery even some of the medical personnel involved refer to my situation as a definite miracle.

I am writing this letter, wondering if anyone else has written anything to you. I am the Diocesan Program Director for the Kalamazoo Diocese in Michigan. At a District Meeting last Thursday evening, Kent Weiss gave an account of what he knew of the miricle that he has lived through. On May 5th of 2009, Kent Weiss suffered a severe heart attack while checking buildings at his workplace. The next thing that he remembered was that he looked over to see the cleaning lady mopping the floor of the room he was left in. This was after the Doctors pronounced him as dead, a death certificate was processed, arrangements were made to remove his organs for transplant and his wife, Millie was in route to make arrangments at a Funeral Home. The rest was what Kent might consider to be a long recovery, but he is once again active as a Forth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus at this time. Right from the beginning and throughout the entire ordeal, Millie asked for prayers to be offered for Kent. Also during this time, all of the Councils that I visited, were offering prayers to Father McGivney for Kent's immediate and complete recovery. I still have the e-mails sent to me if you desire to see them. As Kent put it last Thursday night. My wife Susanne contacted very rare form of Cancer. What was the routine removal of a Cyst turned out to be the removal of a cancereous tumor. I prayed to Father McGivney that her second surgery to clear up the cancerous tissue and gain clear margins was successful. I am happy to report the surgery was a success. She has been placed in a study for this rare cancer and except for going back every 3 months for checkups her Oncologist indicated that she was clean. On March 2, 2009 I submitted the following request for favor to the Father McGivney Guild: Dear Father McGivney, I pray to you, the Most Venerable Servant of God, Father Michael J. McGivney to intercede for me in my time of need. It is for the good of my family that I pray for an early retirement from the Social Security Administration. For the past several years, approval of the Administration's early retirement plan comes from another government agency called the Office of Personnel Management. If the plan is approved this year, it will help me to work together with my wife in our home based distribution of RELIV nutrition products. I will be in better physical condition because retirement will remove the stress of sitting all day at the computer which has been creating eye and neck pain for me. Your intercession, Father McGivney is much needed at this time in my life. I have been praying with intensity to the Communion of Saints during the past one or two years for this miracle to happen. I have long suffered from skin rash on my hands and other body parts since serving on active duty in the US. Marine Corp. I had gone to medical treatments and nothing in nearly thirty years helped or allowed me relief. I joined the Knights of Columbus and a worthy Brother who was aware of my embarrassment and concerns suggested that I pray to Father McGivney and ask for his help in finding relief. I have done so and for the first time in more than half my life span I have found the relief that I had so long dreamed of and prayed for. I know that these sorts of things have happened to others and we hear about them but through the power of prayer and the seeking of help in this matter from Father McGiveny, I have finally found the relief that I have seeked for more than thirty years. I praise and give myself to my lord Jesus and reverently seek that he gives my cherished and beloved Pope the guidance and wishdom to grant upon Father Michael J. McGivney the most worthly blessing that he so richly deserves. I would like to have noted that I am a member of the Knights of Columbus and have thought and prayed hard about this and wish that my voice be added to the thousands of others that seek his being a Saint of the Church to allow his good works on this earth to continue and grow for the good of all mankind and the love we each need to demonstrate to each other for it is only through this love and gods blessing that I can be saved. One of my staff members suffered a massive heart attack on May 4, 2009. He had no brain activities and was on total life support. The doctors said there was no hope and that the machines should be turned off. The doctors actually said that ONLY a miracle could save him now. The family agreed and the machines were turned off on Thursday, 5/7/09. His heart began beating on it's own, he began breathing, and within 2 hours he awoke and recognized his wife. As the Provincial Secretary I administer the prayer chain. I had requested on that Monday that everyone pray to Father McGivney for our dear brother. I usually ask that all pray to our Blessed Mother but in this case I asked that everyone pray to Father McGivney as my friend was an extremely dedicated and active Knight. My friend is doing very well now and is almost back to full recovery. We all know it WAS a miracle. I would like to have the Guild follow-up on this wonderful event. Dennis

For aiding our family's decision to rent our friends house while the father of the family is deployed in Iraq and the rest of the family is purchasing and new home and moving to another state to prepare for his next assignment, that my wife and I may have the fiscal responsibilty and fortitude to maintain this rented house as our friends would have to take an awful, burdonsome, almost impossible loss on the home with the current real estate market. This arrangement would provide an opportunity for my family to live in a house sizable enough for our family of seven that would be out of our finacial reach to purchase on our own but is possible to rent and would keep our children in the same neighborhood and school system, along with providing our friends the opportunity to make the already difficult out of state move away from family and friends without a disappointing financial loss and added burden to their already highly stressful situation. May God bless all of our service men and woman and their families for keeping us safe and the sacrifices they make everyday on the battlefield and on the homefront. On January 16, 2009, while driving home from work, I received a telephone call from my husband, Joe telling me to drive to Bayshore Hospital immediately. Ryan had been working out with his brother Randy and his best friend Mike at the gym. Ryan told them his head began hurting and he was going home. Randy and Mike told Ryan they would go with him to make sure he got home safely. They were concerned because he had been fine just minutes before, laughing and joking then suddenly he felt bad and didn't look well. Following the tests, the doctor informed Joe, Randy and Mike that Ryan had a bleeder in the brain. I think we were all in a state of shock. We were filled with fear and I began calling family and friends requesting prayers to be said for Ryan. Joe, a fourth degree Knight with Assembly 2187 and a member of Council 10574 at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church called his friend and Grand Knight, Greg Treacy and asked that prayers be said for Ryan. Greg sent out a prayer request for Ryan to their brother Knights at St. Hyacinth. We would later learn that not only had the people we contacted begin praying for Ryan, many of them had placed Ryan on prayer lists in their churches, workplace, etc. How blessed he was to have a multitude of intercessory prayers said for him. He was once more blessed to receive excellent doctors to care for him. Ryan was placed into the Neurological Intensive Care Unit where he had a nurse monitoring him 24 hours a day. Once more we called out to family and friends requesting prayers. The angiogram was successful and the surgeon was able to put in a coil to stop the hemorrhaging. Praise God! Ryan had survived the rupture and the surgery and we felt relieved, believing the worst was behind us. After a short recovery period, Ryan was returned to the NICU. We would soon learn from his Neurologist that the worst was yet to come. Ryan was alive but now in great danger of strokes. The doctor explained that the next 14 days he would be very susceptible to strokes that could be life altering. He said the first 10 days were the most critical. The relief we had experienced earlier had disappeared. Again our prayer requests went out. Joe and I remained at the hospital day and night for the next 10 days, waiting and praying. Family, friends and the Brother Knights continued to pray for Ryan. Nine days after he was released from the hospital, I drove Ryan to his neurologist for a follow-up visit. Dr. Lopez was amazed at Ryan recovery. He said that 50% of the people who suffer a ruptured brain aneurism don't survive. Of those who do survive, 30% never fully recover. To see Ryan recover so quickly, with no neurological or memory problems was truly amazing he said. Three weeks after Ryan had suffered a ruptured brain aneurism he was released back to work full time. He was required by Johnson Space Center to take a physical at the NASA medical facility in order to return to work. He passed with flying colors. Once more, the doctor who examined Ryan at the NASA facility was amazed at Ryan's recovery. We truly believe Ryan is alive and has fully recovered because of the intercessory prayers and rosaries prayed for Ryan during this time and by the grace of God. How great is our God! During these difficult economic times our small public school in our community was being considered to be closed. As a part-time teacher my position was also being eliminated completely. I was going to have to re-apply as a teacher for full-time and would be considered after all other full-time teachers had been given new postions. The whole county was reorganizing. This would be very difficult to achieve. It was believed our school was pretty much gone. We needed a miricle to keep us open and to provide teachers who would be commited to our reorganized, possibly combined groups of students. Our community churches, families and others prayed for our school and teachers. I prayed nightly to Father McGiveney for guidance and acceptance to deal with whatever was to be. A few weeks ago we rejoiced! Our school would stay open. At least for one more year. But we really needed dedicated teachers. Three teachers were needed and three were found. I was glad but saddened and scared for myself. I continued to pray for quidance and acceptance. On a Monday morning my principal approached me. They wanted one more teacher. Would I interview? Of course. I was anxious because the other applicant was a fellow part-time teacher. After the interview I waited to hear from our new principal (for the next year)I would be sad either way the interview went because if I got the job my friend would not and if she got the job of course I would be sad. I found out I was picked and rejoiced but with a heavy heart. I went immediatly to find my friend and we talked, cried and hugged. I continue to pray she will find a postion for next year. To me this was a miricle. Father McGiveney also helped us when my husband needed another position for health reasons. Our prayers were answered there too.

I had been removed as a day shift superintendant in July of 2008 due to a perceived "conflict of interest" as deemed by my employer. I was sent to work on the midnight shift as the superintendant and was told it was only for 6 weeks and then I would train in another day shift superintendant's role. 4 weeks into being on the midnight shift - the manager had concerns about some issues on the midnight shift and he told me I would not be going to this other training position. During all of this time - I was under a great deal of stress - not knowing where, if or what job I had. When I was told I would not be going to this training position - I couldn't take the stress anymore. My doctor took me off work. My association filed a grievance on my behalf. Things seemed really grim. Management offered me a settlement which was awful. The grievance called for me going to this training position permanently. All the while - I was praying the prayer to Father McGivney - asking for his intercession. I was off work for 2 1/2 months. I was depressed, on medication. Things just seemed so bad for me. I continued to pray. All of a sudden - through Father McGivney's intercession - I was offered that job permanently. I am still having some difficulties and still praying to Father McGivney but things are presently brighter now than they were 5 months ago. I am a guild member since 2007. This favor happened last January 2008. I am a sub-contractor for structural steel works for buildings. Last January 2008, Me and my main contractor, participated in the bidding for the construction of a 4-storey Building Ramp and the 4-Storey Auditorium building for Grace Christian College here in Quezon City, Philippines. I was the one who estimated the structural steel works of the said buildings for bidding. There were seven contractors who participated on the bidding. While I am doing the estimates, I prayed to Father McGivney to guide me in my estimates so that we will win the bidding. Everyday before the bidding I prayed so hard to Father McGivney, until the day of the bidding. When the bidding day arrived and all the bids have been submitted, I still prayed so hard, and when the bids were opened, I thanked and prayed to Father McGivney because we were the one who won the bidding. The project to date is nearing its completion and I thanked Father McGivney for his answered prayer.

2 months ago I asked for Fr. McGivney's help because my sister in law was told she had cancer in her lungs, stomach, and pancreas. She underwent 3 treatments of chemotherapy. She just had a total body scan and she was told by her Dr. that the tumor has been reduced to 1/2 its original size and there is no cancer in her lungs. He said the worst case senario is that she would die in 3 to 4 years and best case, it will be totally gone. Thank You very much

Our 10 year old grandson, Logan, has a heart valve defect and had heart surgery the 1st week of December to replace a pig valve. Complications arose after the surgery and he ended up having a stroke which caused him to lose mobility in his arms and legs and total loss of speech. I have requested prayers from all my brother knights and their families for Logan and know they have been requesting intercession from Father McGivney as has our family. It's been two months and he has been slowly gaining all his mobility back, but his speech has not. I just received a call from grandma and she told me that Logan woke up this morning just talking away. Still sluring a lot of words, but talking nonstop like he used to. Please keep Devin in your prayers. Devin was a healthy 39 year old 4th Degree Knight from Holy Child Council #12190 in Claymont , Delaware. Devin experienced a brain aneurysm on Monday. He was rushed to the hospital and air lifted to Jefferson in Philly. He was given a 50/50 chance of surviving the operation but after surgery he is still in very critical condition but the doctors are optimistically cautious. He will be in a coma for a few more days. When he is awake we will know much more. Please, please keep him in your prayers, especially at this time of year . He is married to my daughter and has a two year old and one on the way. I have been bothered medically with neuropathy and osteo arthritis in my right knee. I have prayed to Fr. McGivney and also Fr. Maximilian Kolbe OFM Conv. for a relief of pain in feet and legs. 6 months ago they found I had colon cancer. Prescrtibed treatment was radiation and chemotherapy to shrink the tumor followed by surgery, probably necessitating a colostomy. I asked Father Mc Givney to intercede. After the radiation and chemo they found a significant shrinkage of the tumor and no cancer. It then required a moderate surgiccal procedure to remove the remaining tumor but no colostomy.

I had shoulder surgery on January 29, 2008 which resulted in a staph infection. I went home thinking everything was ok and 9 days near death with acute sepsis, acute renal failure and double pneumonia. I went through 2 days of kidney dialysis. I was instructed that I would most likely need kidney dialysis for life. I prayed as I always do to Fr. McGivney for strength and regaining of health. After a month in the hospital I surprised everyone with a regaining of health and no long term care, no dialysis and release from medical care. I attribute this all to Fr. McGivney. My wife and I attended the Supreme Convention in Quebec City this year. I was ill starting in June 2008 and was not feeling great on our trip to Quebec but we went. I got more sick and with God's grace and Fr. McGivney's attentive listening, I made the week at the convention. Arrived back in Honolulu on August 8th and was immediately admitted into the hospital. I was eventually released on September 8, 2008, 30 days of hospital stay. Throughout our ordeal, especially since the doctors were not sure of what I had, one says that it could be pancreatic cancer and others saying that it was just an inflamation of my pancreas. Took many CAT scans and blood tests and the results were negative. However, the oncologist called to consult was still insisting on getting more definitive testings--ordered the PET Scan. That came back with nothing conclusive. Now recuperating and regaining my strength and health and we owe this to our daily prayers to Fr. McGivney. Appreciate the favors he has given us. Dear Father, I accompanied my aunt last February 2008 (who was 61 years old at that time) to the hospital with stomach pains that turned out to be a mass on her colon. The surgeon told us that it is a risky operation to remove the tumor because of her age and the length of time for the operation to complete. The surgeon also said that my aunt may have a colostomy (or an opening) on her abdomen after her operation. The colostomy will be used as an artificial anus and may be permanent. I and my family prayed to Father McGivney to help my aunt survive her operation. The operation was a success and we were also thankful that my aunt doesn't have a colostomy which was actually an immense relief for her. Fr. These people recieve the love and support they need and benifits their QWL and dignity. This organization that Fr. McGivney started over 100 years ago has stayed true to his saintly vision. The principles that he set forth as the foundation of the K of C are just as valid today as they were in the begining. This truth and the organization he started as well as the personal interactions and benefits of the works of the K of C are his miracle. I can think of no cure or special event that could signify the virtues of this holy man. Fr. McGivney has inspired generatiosn to praise God and serve thier fello man. A Brother Knight, Robert (Coundil 3382), was facing a critical point in his life. With doctors in Cincinnati afraid to take any further chances with his heart, Bob was advised to go to the Cleveland Clinic OH)to face an unknown treatment. Sir Knights throughout Ohio and Michigan (and also Brother Knights and their families) were asked to begin a massive effort to pray for Blessed Father McGivney's intercession. Bob was told his heart could not be operated on; that he had a blood clot; that most all of his veins and arteries had to be cleaned out. We also had to have blood drawn every few weeks and discarded because he had too much blood and it was contaminated. When Bob arrived at the Cleveland Clinic in two weeks, the blood clot was no longer evident; only 1 artery needed a stint; they did an angiogram and found his heart was working much better than in years. The Fourth Degree has a prayer chain which is spread throughout Assemblies, directly to Sir Knights, etc. In turn many of these prayer requests are send out through Council in these two states.

St Francis of Assisi, Knights of Columbus Council #12480, through our Grand Knight, Stan requested a relic from The Father McGivney Guild. We received a special relic holder with a peace of Farther McGivney's Clothing on a peace of red velvet with printing on the background: "Servant of God Fr.M.J.McGigney". We keep the relic next to my wife, Linda, on her bedside nightstand for our continued prayers as a reminder of Father McGivney's intercessory assistance in her recovery. I personally have prayed to Father McGivney as a Knight of Columbus for over twenty years. He is my Champion as an example of love through Christ. While Linda was in ICU and critically ill we kept the relic hanging on the medication tree with her I.V. medications. Today, we kept the relic by her side and offer prayers for Linda, in Father McGivney's name. He continues to help in her recovery and the Relic is on her bedside table at all times. Our pastor and two associate parish priest friends offered prayers for her several times during her illness plus gave her Communion. She is on their personal prayer list for her recovery. Parish Pastoral Eucharistic Ministers from assigned Parishes brought her Communion on a regular schedule to the hospitals she was in throughout this illness. She was in ICU for a month in septic shock with infections throughout her entire body and was kept alive on a respirator plus a feed tube along with IV's, of the three strongest antibiotics available. But: Our prayers were critical to her recovery. Her Doctors, today, believe prayer is what has helped save her. I believe strongly that God allowed her to live through the intersession of Fr. McGivney and all of the priest, friends, family, and Brother Knight's who prayed for her. Our prayers, along with our family and Brother Knights were offered in the name of Father McGivney. Most of her Doctors and medical staff did not expect her to live. They all contribute her recovery to prayer more than their medical assistance. With our prayers to Father McGivney: She is back home recovering from this extensive illness of over nine months. With home assistance from a home health care nurse and two therapists she continues to improve through God's grace. We are blessed through these combined efforts and prayer to Father McGivney. My son John Paul applied to Teachers'college earlier this year. He was notified April 1st, that he was put on a waiting list (#11 out of 11). Six weeks later he became #5 out of 5. My husband and I made a pilgrimage to ST. Mary's Church in New Haven, Conneticut in the middle of June. While there, we prayed at the tomb of Fr. McGivney (for many things, including my son's petition for acceptance into Teachers' college). Two days later, when we called home, we received the good news that John Paul was notified of his acceptance into Teachers' college. We want to say thank-you for Fr. In January of this year, 2008, my best friend of 60+ years was diagnosed with agressive lung cancer. Surgery was scheduled for March 5 when the lower left lobe of the lung was to be removed but upon opening her they found the cancer had spread and was in the lymph nodes, so they closed her up and on April 21st she began agressive treatments of Chemo and Radiation. She became deathly sick and describes it as "being to hell and back". She refused her last two Chemo treatments but continued with the Radiation until June 9th. We, along with all our friends and neighbors, stormed Heaven with prayers on her behalf. We asked, no begged, Father McGivney to intercede for a healing and on June 19th our prayers were answered when a final scan showed the tumour in the lung was now nothing but scar tissue,one beside the esophagus was gone and the lymph nodes were all normal. She has agreed to have the last two chemo treatments and entered hospital this morning to do so. With the help of The Devine Mercy, through the intercession of Father McGivney my best friend now has renewed faith and a second chance at life. My husband, who is a devote knight, and I introduced her to Father McGivney and now she will be telling the world about a young priest from New Haven Conn, who died much too young, who saved her life. On Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at approximately 9 AM I said a prayer to Father McGivney and requested that he help me find a good little home in my little girl's school district, as we found out last minute that we had to move. I had driven past a nice little home that morning and wrote down the phone number, even though I figured that it would be way too expensive as it was a whole house on a nice sized piece of property. I called on it anyway at about 10 AM. By 12:30 , my boyfriend had met with the landlord and gave him the money to move in. We moved in 2 days later, on Valentine's Day. Few months ago, our officemate Dolores suffers from a very serious illness. She is confined in a hospital and for almost a week she is unconcious, she is almost dead. And the doctors did not know what kind of illness it was and they called it as viral infection. Dear Fr. Lappe, Dave, I want to thank you and your brother knights for the Masses and prayer vigil on behalf of our son Ricardo. All the prayers have lifted us up as we continue to walk on this journey. On May 2nd at 11:00am, Ricardo had an appointment to begin another round of chemo. The night before his temperature quickly rose to 102 F. We immediately took him to emergency. There he was admitted and we found out that he had the shingles. That meant no round of chemo. Our hearts were tight and we worried because Ricardo's tumor had not shrunken any more since the radiation therapy. We didn't know what this would do. Our fear was that it would start to grow because it only took about 10 days to grow back to its previous size back in March. From March to May, the results from the chemo showed that the tumor hadn't grown but it had neither shrunken. Now with the shingles, we wondered what would happen. The doctor saw a window for a CT Scan and the second week in May after the Knights prayer vigil, Ricardo had his CT scan. Dr. Jude McGann, my son's oncologist, had told Lisa Hix (a dear friend whom Ricardo calls Aunt Lisa) and me that his probabilities were low. So the day of the scan I was with him and as any mother would do I prayed the whole way through it. On May 15th, Dr. McGann showed us the results of May's CT scan and the previous scan so that we could compare and see for ourselves. Praise Jesus, the tumor which had been the size of a grapefruit (8+inches in diameter)was now the size of a big lemon. The tumor is beginning to respond to treatment. She said that she had never seen a tumor this size before. I looked at Dr. McGann and said, "This looks like a miracle." She looked at me and deliberately said "Yes, this looks like a miracle." I guess we don't have to tell you that we are happy and grateful for all the prayers and Masses offered for his healing. It still is a long way to recovery and we don't know what the Lord has in store for us, but the Lord has blessed us with good news this time around. We continue to hope and trust in the Lord. Hadley is a 2-month old baby girl who has born without a left ventricle in her heart. She only has 6 more weeks to live, and two hearts did become available for her, but they were either too big, or too small for her. It had to be just the right size. I attend a 24-Hour Adoration Service of the Blessed Sacrament every Wednesday from 10-11pm. On Wed. May 21st, during my Holy Hour, I used the "Prayer for the Canonization of Fr. McGivney" prayer card, given to me by the Guild, and asked through the intercession of Fr. McGivney, for a new heart for baby Hadley. The next week, May 28th, I repeated everything I did before, and I also posted my favor on the Guild website for others to pray for her. The favor was also written in our parish's book of prayer intentions that we pray for every Sunday during the Offertory, again, through the intercession of Fr. Michael J. McGivney. The next week June 4th, a Wednesday, I received word that a heart was found for her and that she was originally due to have surgery that night at 10:00pm-the same time as my holy hour of adoration! This was later changed to 5:00 am the next day, due to other unforseen issues. The surgery was a success, and she is in recovery at a hospital in St. Louis. I received word that her new heart was beating and functioning normally, but that she would need to be monitored for a while. I believe this to be the work of God through his venerable servant, Fr. Michael J. McGivney. Vivat Jesus!

During 1999 and 2000, I was a candidate for the Clinical Pastoral Educational program for Chaplinacy. At one point I needed to be supervised on the floor by my supervisor. By nature I am a very nervous person, and the night before this supervision, I asked Fr. McGivney (prayer for his canonization) for his protestion to get through this without insicent. I will never forget dealing with my supervisor. who had an effect to make you very concerned, and at the end was very pleased with my handling of the patients that we saw that day. If it was not for Fr. McGivney, I would not be working today as a per-diem Chaplain at a local hospital. I really believe that he allowed me to deal with this very stressfull event with ease and be able to be who I am today.

I had my demonstration teaching as a part of the requirements for application in a college. I came in late, and so on the way I prayed for the intercession of Fr. Michael McGivney as I was carrying the prayer card and third class relic with it. To my surprise, the demo teaching was moved to two hours later. Moreover, while I was doing the demo teaching (about the Sacrament of Baptism), I felt a guiding presence assuring me that all will be well. THANK GOD, I WAS HIRED! Dear Sirs, My grandson Spencer , 11 years old, was found to have a 13cm tumor growing on his spinal cord. He was operated on Jan 29, 2008 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. I prayed The Prayer for Canonization of Father Michael J. McGivney on the 29th. A follow up exam of Spencer performed on May 5, 2008 showed that the cancer had been removed with a 99% that there will be no reoccurrence. The Mayo Clinic will continue to monitor Spencer for at least 10 more years as there have only been 70 similar cases in the United States. Dear Fr. My Son age 49 went into hospital after failed stress tests. He was diagnosed and (5) stents were scheduled. After third stent insertion veins started to tear. EM quintuple bypass performed. I am sure that Fr. McGivney was the reason we were able to start two councils within a year. With so many obstacles facing us. It was difficult since in one of the parishes, an attempt was made a few years ago to start a council and stalled. With this area being rural and small population, a Knights of Columbus council in both cases almost seemed impossible. I dont think we suceeded by ourselves. Fr. McGivney helped so that the Priests of these parishes could have their own councils.

I was informed of the condition of a friend of a co-worker and asked to pray for her. The woman was "dying" from inoperable brain tumors and was going through the final stages of the cancer. My friend asked me to pray for Letti. I asked the members of my Council (St. Benedict #10633) to pray for her. I started praying and asking Fr. McGivney to pary for Letti, too. Today I have received the news that the tumors appear to be shrinking. Her doctors have no explanation for it. They have used the word "miracle."

4/22/2008 Dear Father, I am very thankful for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ who has healed me through the intercession of venerable Father Michael J. McGivney. A Synovial Cell Sarcoma was found in my ankle last November. I received the anointing of the sick and petitioned the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Peregrine, St. Jude, all the Saints, and Father Michael J. McGivney to intercede for me and ask God to heal me. My parish St. Malachy, Council 12540, Indiana State Council, and many others have been praying for me. I received chemotherapy in January. This was followed by surgery on March 28th to remove the tumor. I was told that at best my talus and calcaneus bones would need to be pinned together. If the surgeons could not remove the tumor with negative margins, I would need a below the knee amputation. The surgery lasted over seven hours. Thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ the surgeons were able to remove the tumor. No amputation was required. It was not even necessary to pin the bones together. Paul

On 4-08-08, I read about Father Michael McGivney in the Catholic New World newspaper. I was deeply affected by his faith and all he accomplished in his short life. My neighbor, told me his wife was in England, because her sister had an apparant return of her cancer. His wife, Pauline, had basically gone to England to say her last goodbyes to her sister, as she was given only about a 10% chance of survival. Based on the information I received from my neighbor, her brain was swollen, she was in a coma & her kidneys were shutting down. I had barely received the prayer for the cannonization of Fr. McGivney, and I informed my neighbor to tell his wife I would pray for her sister. Every morning I offered my prayer for this woman. About two weeks later, my neighbor told me his wife was coming home, as her sister had pulled through & was going to be released from the hospital. My neighbors thanked me for the prayers & said they believed it truly was a "Miracle" that she survived & is doing quite well considered. We were told early in our marriage that my wife was prone to complications with pregnancy. Our first child was born in 2005 without complications. Last spring we found out that my wife was pregnant again. This was her third pregnancy. There had been difficulty with a pregnancy a year earlier which resulted in a miscarriage. When she went for her first blood work this time, the doctor reported that her lab results indicated that this pregnancy may also result in a miscarriage. We prayed together for her health and the health of our unborn child. I also prayed the rosary many times a day and used the Father McGivney prayer card. One night while praying and asking for the help of Father McGivney, I felt a sudden and definite feeling of peace. I knew then that everything was going to be okay. We continued to pray for a safe delivery and the health of the baby and my wife. On December 25, 2007 we were blessed with the safe delivery of our new baby boy. Grant Joseph was born 11 days early, but was healthy and is growing very well. I believe that Father Michael J. McGivney interceded and looked after this pregancy. Thank You Father McGivney.

February 1, 2008 Back in 2006 I was in an automobile accident with my father, who was 80 years old at the time. There were no injuries from this accident, but it was the beginning of my father’s demise. About 6 months after this accident my father was diagnosed with “non-Hodgkin’s – large cell – lymphoma. The outlook was not favorable (actually incurable), surgery was not an option, and the eventual chemo treatments were so extreme that my father’s survival was questioned with every treatment. At this same time I became a member of The Knights of Columbus, Council # 6934. At one of our first meetings I received a copy of the prayer card for Father McGivney. From that night forward I offered my petition to Father McGivney every morning, asking for his intercession on my father’s behalf and asking him to petition our Lord to help my father through this ordeal and prayed for his survival. At 45 I was not ready to loose the man I adored and loved so dearly. From that first day, the first time I uttered this prayer, and asked for Father McGivney’s help, I felt this was different than any other time I had prayed. I felt connected and felt that Father McGivney was there with me and listening, sharing in my pain and sorrow. Let me also note for you at this time, that personally, my life was on a downward spiral as well. My wife, of 9 years, decided to leave me and I was working through that. Also, my older brother was falsely accused and arrested. I, felt, I was being assaulted on multiple fronts, yet while I questioned many things, my faith stayed firm. In large part, I felt this was due to the morning routine I had initiated of praying to Father McGivney. Gentlemen, please understand, while I can not offer you a definitive miracle for your review, I am trying to express that I firmly believe my father’s survival and my strength at this time are because I reached out to Father McGivney. I can not explain why I feel as I do when I say this prayer, but I can tell you I feel a connection, and I feel as if he is there listening. I have never felt closer to God at any other time in my life, not even when I used to sit in Eucharistic Adoration for two hours every week. The outcome…well my father did survive his chemo treatments, while they took there toll on his strength, the doctors ended the treatments one month early. At the time they ended, my father’s body showed no signs of cancer. This was something the doctors did not expect. Sad to say though, my father did pass away this past November. Shortly after his chemo ended, my father had a bad fall, and was found to be bleeding on the brain, this went for two weeks unnoticed and caused my father to receive two “open skull” surgeries. At one point his chance of survival was only 20%. Yet he did survive and while the cancer did finally come back and ultimately end his life, my father survived insurmountable odds. I do believe that I had my father near me that extra time because of my petitions to Father McGivney. I thank our Lord, the Virgin Mary, the Angels and Saints, and Father McGivney. I still struggle with some of my other problems every day, and I still pray to Father McGivney every day as well. Three years ago, a few days before his 40th birthday, our son James, (who is also a member of the KofC)was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. After months of aggressive chemo and radiation treatments and an operation that removed his esophagus, our son never lost faith and this past week, three years from his diagnosis, he was declared cancer free. I know that many family, brother knights, friends and some who did not even know Jim, prayed vigorously for his healing. I myself, prayed daily through Blessed Father Mc Givney (and other saints) that this might be a cause he (Fr McGivney) could intercede, and one day soon receive recognition and his most deserving canonization. We are most thankful for the news received about our son's survival. Hello to all, I am a Knight of Columbus in Spokane Valley, Wa, council 4196, St. Mary's Church, and I was given one of his prayer cards, (Fr. McGivney) and have prayed it everyday, several times a day since getting it in early May 2007, I always carry it in my left vest pocket over my heart as I feel a special kinship to him, being Irish myself and caring about the poor and needy myself. On May 31st 2007, Istopped to assist a lady by changing her flat right rear SUV tire, to make a long story shorter, while underneath the 4000 pound truck it fell off the jack and crushed me...although pinned for ten minutes and terribly scared, after being removed and taken by ambulance to Sacred Heart Hospital, I was examined and found to not only be unhurt but had no injuries whatsoever with the exception of some sore ribs and bruising, the doctor in the ER said he had never seen someone come in with that type of accident and not get hurt much worse.....while under the truck I could see his prayer card sticking out of my pocket and I prayed to him for the strength to hold on and to stay conscious so that I could tell them that my infant son was in my car sitting next to us....I have reverently prayed to him with out exception everyday since I got the prayer card and will continue to do so every day as long as I can....I was very very blessed and protected and KNOW IN MY HEART, that the Lord has a plan for me that did not include dying under that truck that day. I am a stubborn good Samaritan like that and have changed about 30 flats for people like that in the last few years, you know old ladies and people like that and I stubbornly thought this time was going to be like all the others but I was in a hurry and made several mistakes that led to the accident..I used my car jack since she did not have one, I have M.S. and should not have even been changing a tire anyway, I have emergency roadside assistance on my insurance and could have called them, I was on my way to work and should not have stopped, but did, and once i got the full size flat off, it did not think how I was going to be able to get the full size fully inflated tire back on since I could barely get the flat one off..so I made several errors in judgement that led to the accident and was spared anyway...THANK YOU JESUS AND THANK YOU FR.MCGIVNEY FOR SAVING ME, I WILL NEVER FORGET IT... In November of 2001 (a couple of days before Thanksgiving), 2 months after the birth of my first child, my wife was on her way home from work driving on the tollway. In front of her was an 18 wheel semi, pulling an open bed trailer loaded with 6 foot, by 6 foot, 3 inch thick plate steel. The load was not secured properly, and at least one of the plates was thrown into the air. Spinning like a circular saw blade, at 70+ miles per hour, the plate sheared vertically through the roof of my wife's car, cleaving the dashboard, shattering the windshield, and rolling down the centerline of the car, a 1999 Buick Century. Despite the near obliteration of the passenger cabin, and the steel landing inches from her head, my wife was unhurt, and incredibly, she chased down the truck driver and forced him to pull over. This event was viewed as miraculous by all involved - I would like to send you a picture of the car, which I have available, if you give me an e-mail address. We have subsequently used the photo and story for purposes of evangelization. This event was life altering for us in many ways - My wife and I are active in the pro-life movement, and Antigone will be a teacher this year at St. Ferdinand parish school, where she went as a child, and where both of our children go today. I recently returned from a pilgrimage to Ireland with the 101 Foundation. Before we left we had a mini-Eucharistic weekend at the Blue Army Headquarters in Washington, NJ. Dr. Rosalie Turton, Director of the 101 Foundation, arranged for a visionary, Tom Lennon to speak to us at our hotel near Knock. He told us that the only way we are going to save our country is through the First Saturday Devotion. It makes perfect sense because at the time of St. Pius V, the Holy Father and the people of Rome were praying for the defeat of the Turkish Armada at the Battle of Lepanto. If the rosary can save Western Civilization, we can save our country through the First Saturday Devotion. Please excuse using this as a way to communicate to you. I will start praying to Fr. Late last year (2006) my brother, Bill, was diagnosed with stage two esophageal cancer. He underwent both chemo and radiation therapies, and then, about two months ago had surgery to remove his esophagus. When I heard of my brother’s condition, I drafted a prayer to Fr. McGivney asking him to intercede for my brother. I sent this prayer to others in our family, and I have been saying this prayer daily. When my brother had the surgery, the surgeons found no trace of cancer at all, while they expected to be removing the remnants of the reduced cancer. My brother is not out of the woods yet and must still recover from the removal of his esophagus. It appears, however, that he is cancer free.

I prayed for Father McGivney's intercession for my Mom, who was going into the hsopital. After three days and two tests, it was revealed that her heart is all right. Thank God! Thank you, Father McGivney.

I was hospitalized on 12/8/2006 after suffering two heart attacks and a stroke. I was unable to walk without assistance on both sides of me. I had zero endurance and had to stop frequently to catch my breath. I prayed to Father McGivney that I might be be made well enough (I can endure suffering and pain) so that I might continue to fullfill God's plans for me here on earth. Two days later (approximately 36 hours after admission, I awoke with a very warm feeling through out my body; sat up and undid my own IV line; dressed; and began doing 20 laps around the nurses stations and hallway. Nothing was changed in my medications, treatment, diet, etc. My cardiologist has signed off on me without restrictions. I continue to have tremendous energy, balance, and endurance - recently returning from a 2-week journey throughout Germany (15 cities in 13 days) without problems or complications. My wife and I had been unsuccessful in trying to start our family for almost a year and a half when I sought Father Michael's intercession. I prayed ferverently to Father Michael to pray for us so that we too may be blessed in having a child of our own. As Father Michael was such a strong protector of Christian family life, my faith in him assured me that I would one day have a family of my own. Three weeks ago my beautiful new son arrived perfectly healthy. Thank-you Father Michael McGivney, may God continue to show his grace on you!

I was unemployed for a year. I heard from State Deputy of Oregon Dominic Worsowicz that he prayed to Fr McGivney for a job and received an offer shortly thereafter. So, as the State Deputy of Washington, I prayed to Fr McGivney and also received a job offer. I have been employed since then (now for 9 months). Perhaps Fr McGivney should be called the patron saint of unemployed state deputies!

For the last two months I have asked Father McGivney to aid me (and my 4 young children) in obtaining my "old" job back. I have worked for our local Hwy Dept for the last 5 years. Because of an injury that happen at work, I needed a new knee. Being at a "young" age, 41, many doctors would not perform the operation. Long story short, after the surgery the Hwy Dept would not allow me to come back to work. I was released from my doctor with no restrictions, but still I was not allowed to come back. I am a single father of four little children and was very worried. After a month or two of feeling put aside by Our Lord, I once again picked up my relic of Father McGivney and found my faith stronger, deeper and more beingful. It was through his prayers that I first obtain my job at the Hwy Dept, and now 5 years latter, he humbled me once again and obtain my reinstatment of my job/position. THANK YOU FATHER McGIVNEY, THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. You truly are the protector of my family!

Last week, a beloved family pet was was seriously ill with acute kidney and heart disease and she was taken to the emergency room and eventually admitted to the vetinarian hospital. Her long term prognosis was very bad. At Mass, this past Sunday, I prayed to Father McGivney for his intercession for her recovery and I'm happy to report that she responded to the medication and treatment to the point we were able to bring her home. The Veterinarian staff was amazed on her quick turn around.

Last summer my husband was in danger of losing his job with an insurance company. I had just finished reading "Parish Priest" and thought Father McGivney would be the perfect advocate for my problem. In 2001, I was diagnosed with stage 4 large cell, non hodgikns lymphoma. My prognosis was bleak only given a 5 in 100 chance to survive treatments, not just survive the disease. Normal treatments were not useful and I was given the opportunity to partake in expermental treatments. After only 5 courses of chemotherapy, there was no evidence of the cancer. My doctors were amazed at the success I was having. Immediately upon hearing of my disease, a member of my KC council began a program that asked for the intercession of Michael McGivney in helping me with this ordeal. Prayer was a very viable part of my mental ability to cope with this disease, and to date, I am now 9 years cancer free. Whether this is due to a miraculous intercession is for others to decide, but for me, there is no doubt that I had the ear of someone upstairs.
